Francesca Rossi is an IBM Fellow and the IBM Global Leader for Responsible AI and AI Governance, chairing WAICF’s Honorary Committee. At IBM’s T.J. Watson Research Lab (NY), she drives AI research and policy on AI alignment, ethical governance, and multi-agent systems, building on 20 years as a Computer Science Professor at the University of Padova. A pioneer in constraint reasoning and AI ethics, she has 220+ publications, including books and edited volumes. Rossi is a Fellow of AAAI and EurAI, former President of AAAI/IJCAI, and former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of AI Research. She chaired the AAAI/ACM Conference on AI, Ethics, and Society (2018, 2023) and the AAAI Conference (2020). Active in global AI governance, she advises the EU, the OECD, the Global Partnership on AI, the WEF, the NYC AI Advisory Network, and the Future of Life Institute. Her work bridges technical AI research with policy and ethics, shaping responsible AI futures.
