Christian Kastrop, President & CEO of the Global Solutions Initiative (GSI), leads global efforts in digital transformation, AI ethics, and inclusive governance. As Germany’s State Secretary for Digital Society, he co-designed the EU AI Act, Digital Services Act, and Data Governance Act, while promoting digital sovereignty and civic empowerment. Previously, he served as OECD Economics Director, shaping climate finance and economic policy, and at the Bertelsmann Foundation, where he advanced EU digital resilience and crisis response. Earlier, he held senior roles at Germany’s Finance Ministry and chaired the EU Economic Policy Committee. A Professor of Public Finance (Free University of Berlin) and Hertie School Fellow, he holds a PhD in Economics (University of Cologne).
